Wizz Air Announces Increased Flight Frequency to Turkey from Hungary

Wizz Air has announced another expansion of its flight schedule, this time towards Turkey. The route to the exciting winter destination of Istanbul will see flights increase from the current seven per week to nine starting in March. Tickets for the Budapest-Istanbul route can be booked through the Wizz Air website and the airline’s mobile application, with the best available price set at 15,590 Hungarian Forints (~42 EUR).

Flights Departing from Budapest to Istanbul Nine Times a Week

Wizz Air in Good Shape

Wizz Air’s first flight from Hungary took off in June 2004, and since then, the airline has served over 47 million passengers from Hungary alone. Operating a total of 72 routes from Budapest and Debrecen to 29 different countries worldwide, the airline remains in good shape.

In the fiscal year 2024, Wizz Air aims to strengthen its position as Europe’s fastest-growing airline. Surpassing industry average performance by far, the airline operates with 53% higher capacity than in 2019. Offering affordable travel options on nearly 1000 routes to over 50 countries, Wizz Air aims to fly a total of 67 million passengers to their favorite destinations in 2023. Alongside popular destinations like Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh, Copenhagen, Istanbul, and Antalya, the airline has launched nearly a dozen new routes from Hungary this year.

The leading airline in Hungary operates a continuously growing fleet, with over 50% consisting of the latest sustainable Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Wizz Air Flights to Turkey from Hungary

Travelers will have the option to fly to two cities in Turkey, with Antalya, the popular vacation spot, becoming accessible from both Budapest and Debrecen starting in the spring of 2024 through the low-cost airline.
